The PLOT3D export tool for TecplotTM is an addon that enables the use of TecplotTM as a data generator and manipulator. The software is specifically designed to enable two functions. First, to use TecplotTM binaries as a method of data exchange, and second to generate data that is needed by other software.

TecplotTM is designed to import data from a variety of sources and develop plots and animations for use with documentation as well as analysis. With this addon, the functionality of TecplotTM is extended to enable the software to be a data generation tool in addition to being an analysis tool. This means that the full functionality of Tecplot'sTM macro language and addon utilities can be used transform TecplotTM into a fully functional tool for generic graphical work within analytical analyses.

The Addon enables a user to:

Output data in ASCII or unformatted FORTRAN styles.

Create grid, grid and solution, or function files.

Include blanking for overset grids.

Choose individual zones, or grouped by active, inactive, or all in order to generate select files of information.

Select specific variables for standard Q solution files.
